    Compensation:
    Teacher Salary Schedule + Supplement/Stipend

    Reports to:
    EC Ancillary Support Specialist & Executive Director of Exceptional Children

    Purpose:
    To identify and provide support, training and coaching to staff to address student behaviors. This role is
    responsible for district planning and maintaining federal and state reporting, overseeing CPI training for the district and
    participating in the EC district leadership work.
    Qualifications
    Minimum


    • Five (5) years of teaching experience working with students with disabilities
    • Bachelor's or Master's Degree in special education
    • North Carolina Teaching License in any Exceptional Children area
    • Knowledge and understanding of Functional Behavior Assessments & Behavior Intervention Plans
    • Direct Experience working with students with behavioral needs
    • Experience collecting and analyzing data to create comprehensive plans
    • Experience analyzing state and local special education data
    • Ability to obtain, train and maintain certification in Non-violent Crisis Prevention Intervention
    Preferred


    • District experience in special education
    • BCBA, RBT or comparable licensure
    • 2 years of leadership or coaching experience in the field

    Key Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Conducting functional behavior assessments (FBAs) to identify the function of challenging behaviors and
    developing individualized behavior intervention plans (BIPs).


    • Implementing behavior intervention strategies, providing direct support to students, and monitoring their
    progress.


    • Providing training and coaching to teachers, staff, and parents on positive behavior support strategies and
    interventions.


    • Collaborating with teachers, school staff, parents, and outside agencies to ensure a consistent and supportive
    approach to behavior management.


    • Collecting and analyzing data on student behavior to track progress, evaluate the effectiveness of
    interventions, and make adjustments as needed.


    • Providing leadership and guidance to the school's behavior support team, advocating for students' needs, and
    promoting a positive school climate.


    • Responding to and de-escalating crisis situations, using appropriate conflict resolution and crisis management
    techniques.


    • Assisting in the development and implementation of school-wide behavior management programs and
    strategies.

    • A strong understanding of evidence-based strategies for promoting positive behavior, such as PBIS, functional
    behavior assessment, and behavior intervention planning.


    • Experience working with students with a range of disabilities and behavioral challenges.
    • The ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, teachers, and other professionals.
    • The ability to analyze data, identify patterns, and develop effective solutions to address behavioral
    challenges.


    • The ability to lead and collaborate effectively with a team of professionals.
    • The ability to respond to crisis situations and implement appropriate de-escalation techniques.
    • Perform other tasks and assume other responsibilities as assigned by the Executive Director or Assistant Director
    of Exceptional Children
