    Description

    The Quality Control Inspector will inspect completed fabrication projects to ensure quality and conformity to customer specifications.

    Duties/Responsibilities

    · Perform inspections if necessary for nonconforming receipt inspection.

    · Inspect Welds for conformity to codes such as D1.1/5

    · Calibrate inspection equipment and tools.

    · Perform final inspections.

    · Measure overall characteristics of a part.

    · Report inspection results.

    · Inspect grade, shape, and thickness of incoming material.

    · Assure specifications of bolts are in accordance with purchase order.

    · Measure paint thickness levels.

    · Maintain inspection records.

    · Identify non-conforming material.

    · Review incoming consumables and paint are in proper condition.

    · Confirm proper gages are used to measure weld sizes.

    · Guarantee calibrated tools are not used during inspection.

    Required Skills/Abilities

    · Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

    · Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

    · Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

    Education and Experience

    · Two years of experience in related field required

    · Ability to read blueprints is required

    Physical Requirements

    · Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

    · Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
