Position Summary:


Under indirect supervision and adhering to JWCE's Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Policies, and an advanced technical knowledge of our Products, the Final QC Inspector performs final inspection of assemblies, equipment and components parts orders verifying conformance to specifications and all internal and customer documentation requirements are met.


Principle Duties & Responsibilities:


  • Performs final inspection of assemblies and equipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
  • Inspects spare parts and assemblies to verify specifications using the applicable sales order, blueprints, drawings or inspection instructions, and checklists.
  • Ensures proper completion and accuracy of production and inspection documentation, verifying that it is included with the equipment and is in good order.
  • Measures assemblies to verify dimensional conformance with the applicable drawing.
  • Visually inspects for obvious defects or damage.
  • Performs paint adhesion and coating thickness tests on completed assemblies as needed.
  • Coordinates with supplying department leads and gathers all equipment, welded structures, spare parts, and operation manuals to be included in shipment, working closely with Final Assembly and Shipping team members to ensure inclusion of all parts and components in every shipment
  • Coordinates with Customer Order Entry personnel to resolve Sales Order Discrepancies and with Stockroom, and Weld Supervisor for the prompt location of missing parts and with production supervisors, engineers and other quality inspectors reviewing sales orders and BOM's to correct discrepancies and/or problems
  • Assists Final Assembly team members in their execution of final assembly and shipping activities such as fitting, mounting, aligning, adjusting, fitandfunction testing, repairing, troubleshooting, and diagnosing any issues with assembled equipment and parts
  • Assists Shipping department team members in their execution of safely laying down equipment, crating, strapping and shrink wrapping per JWCE's SOPs for the Shipping Department, cutting, and adding wood supports as well as equipment protections, modifying crates or manufacturing wooden pallets as required to meet shipment requirements
  • Mixes and uses paint for equipment for touchups when required
  • Photographs items to be shipped as evidence of completion and inclusion with the shipment and uploads the photographs to an external hard drive
  • Reports any nonconforming conditions to the appropriate functional area personnel for rework or resolution and assists in preventing the recurrence of defects by perfuming appropriate followup, inspection, and evaluation activities.
  • Utilize company ERP system (Visual) to access order documentation (drawings, sales order, etc.) and ensures the use of every applicable control to maintain the integrity of the Inventory Control System ensuring all shipping transactions for local and OSP shipments are done correctly and in a timely manner in ERP system (Visual) keeping stock control systems up to date and accurate
  • Perform other duties and special projects as assigned.

Education, Experience, & Skills:

Required:


  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience, plus 35 years in a diverse and dynamic manufacturing environment, including assembly, repair & service warehouse with industrial operations

Dependable team player who with a positive and constructive attitude, people skills, can lead and motivate a team, and explain ideas with Initiative, decisiveness, and enthusiasm

  • Knowledge of ISO based quality systems and process
  • Experience processing materials movements, within an ERP system
  • Experience in inspection process using hand measuring tools like calipers, scales, optical aids, etc.
  • Ability to educate himself or herself on the various control systems/processes, and of carrying out tasks with mínimal supervision
  • Experience working in LEAN manufacturing environment
  • Proficient in technology and analysis tools (Excel, Outlook, web, databases)
  • Good oral and written communication skills and Attention to detail
