  • The California Department of Developmental Services (DDS) is the agency through which the State of California provides services and supports to individuals with developmental disabilities.
  • These disabilities include intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, epilepsy, autism and related conditions. Services are provided through stateoperated developmental centers and community facilities, and contracts with 21 nonprofit regional centers. The regional centers serve as a local resource to help find and access the services and supports available to individuals with developmental disabilities and their families.
  • Special Requirements

The SOQ responses must be typed and limited to two (2) pages total, no smaller than 12-point font size, and answer each numbered item separately and clearly indicate the corresponding question number for each response.

  • Knowledge of: California developmental disabilities system and the services supports and needs of consumers; federally funded waivers, state plan amendments and other federally funded programs related to the developmental disabilities system; state and federal budgeting policies and procedures.

Develop and maintain cooperative and constructive working relationships with other agencies, the community, and department staff; organize and prioritize workload to meet demands in a fast-paced work environment; demonstrate excellent leadership qualities, with the ability to develop, mentor, and motivate staff.
