- A degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems Engineering, Business, or a scientific, or technical discipline
- BS 12-15, MS 10-13, PhD 8-10
- Knowledge of the TCP IP protocol suite, IP subnets and masking, and routing protocols
- Ability to analyze, evaluate, design, and recommend network and cabling infrastructure architecture
- Knowledge of network operating systems
- Knowledge of network architectures and implementation of networked computer systems emphasizing multiple platform environments
- Ability to strategically plan new configurations for operation into the network, using knowledge of the characteristics of the systems being added to the network and the specifications for network interfaces to insure effective integration and optimal network performance
- Knowledge of the Sponsor's policies and procedures relating to design, upgrading, and operating and maintaining their networks
- Ability to work in a dynamic and challenging environment
- Strong oral and written communications and interpersonal skills
- Ability to convey technical information to non-technical individuals

The Network Architect supports the Technical Director (TD), assisting with implementation of cloud technologies to advance the mission as well as for protection and hosting.
