    Description

    PRACTICE SPECIFICS
    Hospitalist (primarily day shift; with Flexibility)
    Flexibility to split with outpatient Family Medicine or Internal Medicine if desired
    ~ Primarily day shift with 1:8 week rotation to night shift
    ~ Pay incentive for extra shift(s) and extended week rotations
    ~ Full-time equivalent = 24 weeks/year
    ~ Well-established Hospitalist program and "Top 100 Rural Hospital in America"
    ~162-bed hospital and Level III Trauma Center
    ~ Schedule - 7 on 7 off, Tuesday-Monday cycle
    ~ Hospitalists will cover Med/Surg & ICU, including ventilator co-management with intensivist, RT, and remote support from Duluth
    ~ Total number of physicians in specialty currently: 8 and two NPs
    ~ Fully staffed with 10 hospitalists
    ~ Opportunity to teach and precept medical and PA students, and for future program leadership
    ~ Average inpatient practice volume per day: 12-15 encounters per hospitalist.

    Average daily census on the team: 40-60
    ~ Home to Marilyn Covey Heart & Vascular Center and St. Joseph's Cancer Center
    ~ Certified Primary Stroke Center, co-management with stroke neurology, growing cardiovascular program, and top-performing sepsis care
    ~ Hospitalist team runs codes and rapid responses
    ~ No procedures required (general surgery performs central lines)
    ~ Excellent compensation package, paid malpractice insurance, relocation, and benefit package


    REQUIREMENTS
    BC/BE Internal Medicine or Hospitalist Residency, or Family Medicine with Hospitalist experience
    Current ACLS Required
    Option for FCCS course for added critical care education

    LOCATION
    ~ Brainerd, MN - located at the center of Minnesota
    ~ Home to top bike trails, lakes, hunting, fishing, schools, and restaurants in rural MN
    ~ Brainerd has a Delta Airport hub with twice-daily flights to MSP
    ~ Brainerd Lakes Area population: 65,000; Regional service area: 115,000
    ~125 miles north of Minneapolis/St. Paul
