As a contactor for *** center of excellence laboratory team, the lab technician is responsible for the day to day performance of assigned laboratory and distribution operations, processes and procedures.
Education/Experience:
Surgical tech experience
Imaging experience
OR experience
ER tech
Essential Job Functions:
Performs assigned laboratory and distribution systems, processes, and procedures.
Participates in ***'s quality management system and regulatory adherence.
Performs procurement, packaging, labeling, distribution of tissue, supply, and cleaning activities as assigned.
Maintains facilities and supplies according to the needs of the laboratory and distribution departments.
Participates in training activities as directed.
Understanding and proficiency in applicable federal, state and local laws and accreditation standards.
Must be willing to be trained on *** SOP's and demonstrate knowledge of the training.
Perform and work in a team environment
Safety sensitive position with access to personal and health information of donors and must maintain confidentiality.
Including but not limited to the following tasks:
Performing physical assessments of whole-body cadavers, exposures, and Imaging patient anatomy.
Disinfecting/Cleaning of the lab areas and instruments.
Preparing lab for education and surgical training
Preparing shipments of specimens.
Personal Elements:
Must perform well under stress.
Ability to lift 50 LBs using proper/safe lifting techniques.
Must comprehend and be familiar with regulating agencies and their requirements.
Must be willing to work weekends and nights
Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned. Performs a variety of technical procedures such as preparing routine solutions and reagents and performing routine reactions. Makes and records observations; performs simple calculations; and collects and prepares data for evaluation.
Conducts laboratory support functions such as stocking and distributing supplies and equipment; arranging and dismantling apparatus; and collecting, washing, and storing glassware.
Performs technical and record keeping duties in conformance with company and regulatory policies and standards to meet quality and accuracy requirements.
May analyze compounds and manage corporate compound collection.Performs technical procedures in one or more of the following areas:
Production, Research and Development, Quality Control/Assurance, and/or Compliance/Environmental
TECHNICIAN SUPPORT CAREER STREAM:
Provides technical support in areas such as production, operations, maintenance, safety, testing, process improvement or product development.
Uses schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions or defined plans to perform testing and troubleshooting on electronic or mechanical components, equipment or systems.
Gathers, maintains, formats, compiles, and manipulates technical data using established formulae and procedures, and performs detailed mathematical calculations. For higher levels, may suggest and/or make improvements to optimize work processes.DIFFERENTIATING FACTORS Autonomy:
Entrylevel position typically requiring little to no prior experience in technical aspects of a job; . Work is clearly defined, routine or follows standard procedures and is closely supervised. Performs basic tests and records data.
