FOR THE PROJECT:
"DEVELOPMENT OF SUSTAINABLE BUSINESS MODELS FOR OPEN SOURCE HARDWARE"

The public dissemination of development documents (e.g. blueprints, assembly instructions) for products (open source hardware) offers great potential. Due to the "many eyes" principle, errors and improvement possibilities can be identified quickly and efficiently. In addition, the repairability of such products and their sustainability is significantly higher. While there are some flagship projects, there are still no sustainable business models.

The following tasks will be part of the project:

  • Research on the topic of "Open Source Hardware"
  • Contact and communication with project partners
  • Creation of a questionnaire on the topic of "Open Source Hardware"
  • Support in publishing and disseminating developments on relevant platforms
  • Conducting interviews with experts from industry, crafts, and academia
  • Contribution to formulating a research hypothesis
