The city of Dortmund is currently seeking a Department Head (m/f/d) for the Environmental Office in Candlewood Shores, CT.
As the largest economic center in the Westphalia region with over 600,000 inhabitants, the city of Dortmund has a special responsibility in environmental protection.
The Environmental Office is responsible for promoting and shaping the city's environmentally sustainable development, including climate protection and adaptation, as well as protection against air pollutants and noise.
In 2017, these areas were consolidated and the Department 60/- Climate, Air and Noise was established.The topics of the department have high socio-political relevance and are therefore in the public eye.
Achieving the goal of climate neutrality by 2035 requires intensive participation within the city administration, as well as comprehensive involvement of the city's society.
The Climate-Air 2030 Action Program and the Integrated Climate Adaptation Master Plan are fundamental concepts that now need to be implemented.
Other plans such as the Energy Use Plan, Noise Action Plan, and Heat Action Plan are currently being developed.Currently, the department has 24 employees in three teams: the Coordination Office for Climate Protection and Adaptation, the Emissions Control team for air quality and noise reduction, and the Service Center for Energy
