We are launching a specialized program aimed at students with cerebral palsy, designed to enhance their musical abilities, communication skills, and overall well-being through personalized music instruction.

We are seeking skilled, compassionate, and dedicated Voice Teachers who specialize in working with students with cerebral palsy to provide in-home music lessons on a contract basis.


Position Overview:


As an In-Home Voice Teacher specializing in students with cerebral palsy at Arabesque Conservatory of Music, you will deliver personalized music education that accommodates the physical and cognitive needs of each student.

This role involves teaching a variety of musical concepts, depending on the abilities and interests of the student, and using adaptive teaching methods to facilitate learning and engagement.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Conduct initial assessments to determine each student's musical interests, abilities, and specific needs related to cerebral palsy.
  • Develop customized lesson plans that focus on enhancing musical skills while accommodating the physical and cognitive challenges associated with cerebral palsy.
  • Teach voice performance and musical concepts, adapting techniques and using adaptive tools to aid in instruction when necessary.
  • Provide patient, supportive, and motivating instruction to encourage engagement, enjoyment, and progression in musical skills.
  • Monitor and document student progress, adjusting teaching strategies and lesson plans based on the student's development and feedback.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and any involved healthcare professionals to provide updates on progress and coordinate integrated approaches to enhance overall development.
  • Ensure a safe and effective learning environment, taking into consideration the physical limitations and needs of students with cerebral palsy.

Qualifications:


  • Proven experience as a Music Teacher, with a strong foundation in teaching voice and music theory.
  • Specialized training or significant experience in working with individuals with cerebral palsy is highly preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A deep understanding of the challenges faced by students with cerebral palsy and a commitment to adaptive, inclusive education.
  • A nurturing, adaptable, and creative approach to teaching.
  • Must have reliable transportation for inhome visits.
  • Available to commit to a contract position with flexible scheduling based on student needs.

Contract Details:


  • Teachers are expected to provide their own instruments and materials unless specific adaptive equipment is required by the student.
