Arabesque Conservatory of Music is proud to introduce personalized calligraphy and lettering courses, specifically designed for individuals with special needs.

Our mission is to offer a creative outlet and a form of expression through the art of beautiful writing, tailored to the unique needs of each student.

We are currently seeking passionate, patient, and skilled In-Person and Online Calligraphy/Lettering Instructors to deliver individualized instruction and support on a contract basis.


Position Overview:


As a contract Calligraphy/Lettering Instructor at Arabesque Conservatory of Music, you will provide one-on-one calligraphy and lettering lessons to students with special needs.

These personalized sessions will be conducted either in the students' homes or through online platforms, depending on geographical location and individual preferences.

This role is essential in adapting to and fostering the unique artistic interests and learning capabilities of each student, ensuring a supportive, positive, and productive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Develop and implement customized calligraphy and lettering lesson plans, addressing the specific needs, interests, and abilities of each individual student.
  • Provide patient, understanding, and tailored instruction in various calligraphy styles and lettering techniques.
  • Create a nurturing, encouraging, and safe environment that promotes student engagement, confidence, and progress in the art of calligraphy.
  • Monitor and document the student's progress, adapting instructional techniques and lesson plans to facilitate continual improvement and engagement.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents, guardians, and the educational team regarding the student's development, achievements, and areas needing attention.
  • Prepare for each lesson with the appropriate materials and resources, ensuring a productive and engaging session for the student.
  • Stay informed about the latest trends, techniques, and educational strategies in calligraphy and lettering, particularly as they relate to individuals with special needs.

Qualifications:


  • Demonstrated passion and skill in calligraphy and lettering, with a portfolio showcasing a variety of styles and techniques.
  • Previous experience working with individuals with special needs is highly preferred.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • A nurturing, patient, and adaptable teaching approach.
  • Reliable transportation for inperson sessions (if applicable) and access to a stable internet connection and a computer for online lessons.
  • Available to commit to a contract position with flexible scheduling based on student needs.

Contract Details:


  • Instructors should be prepared to provide their own calligraphy tools and materials for inperson sessions and guide students on acquiring necessary supplies for online lessons.
