Human Resources Coordinator


The Human Resources Coordinator's primary purpose is to ensure current and applicable federal, state and local standards, guidelines, and regulations, and as directed by the Administrator.

The coordinator is also responsible for recruitment and retention of staff and payroll duties.


Human Resources Coordinator Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Processes payroll per scheduled close-out periods and answers payroll related questions
  • Assists in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, evaluating and directing the HR department (e.g., developing HR policy manuals, employee job descriptions, performance evaluations, etc.)
  • Maintains written job descriptions and performance evaluations for each staff position in accordance with pertinent laws governing job positions
  • Reviews all requests from department directors for new or replacements personnel, fills requests as approved, and arranges interviews, appointments, etc.
  • Assists in determining departmental staffing, evaluates employee performances and makes recommendations to the administrator's concerning wage and salary adjustments, hiring, terminations, transfers, etc.
  • Consults with department directors concerning the staffing of their departments
  • Prepares, recommends, and maintains records and procedures for controlling personnel transactions and reporting personnel data
  • Ensures that the facility is in compliance with current applicable federal and state employment regulations regarding wages, overtime, work hours, workman's/unemployment compensation, etc.
  • Performs administrative requirements such as completing necessary forms, reports, etc., and submits to the Administrator as required
  • Assists the Administrator with employee discipline
  • Other duties as assigned

Human Resources Coordinator Education and Experience Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration preferred but not required
  • Five (5) year(s) experience in HR Administration or comparable supervisory/management experience is preferred
  • Must possess a thorough knowledge of the laws, regulations, and guidelines concerning personnel administration in nursing care facilities

Human Resources Coordinator Physical Demands**:


  • Must be able to move intermittently throughout the workday
  • May be necessary to assist in the evacuation of residents during emergency situations
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate
