    Job DescriptionPAYROLL SPECIALIST – JOB DESCRIPTION

    Payroll Specialist Responsibilities:

    The Payroll Specialist will assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager in performing the daily functions of the Human Resources Department including maintaining payroll information by collecting, calculating and entering data. The Payroll Specialist will update payroll records by entering changes in exemptions, insurance coverage, deductions and job title and department/division transfers. The Payroll Specialist will work closely with Human Resource Generalists, Talent and Acquisition Team, Events Team, Business Managers, District Managers and will report directly to the Payroll and Benefits Manager.

    Payroll Specialist duties will include but are not limited to:
    • Ensure all teams have approved and entered all timecard requirements prior to payroll processing
    • Maintain 1099 records and enter payments
    • Enter and review tips for tipped employees
    • Review, respond and submit garnishment orders, child support orders or interrogatories
    • Process employee uniform deductions
    • Perform employment verifications
    • Process and ensure accuracy of new hires, transfers, promotions and other employee profile changes
    • Enter proper SOC codes and NCCI codes to new hire profiles
    • Register pay cards with third party vendor
    • Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager in finalizing payroll weekly, quarterly 401k enrollments, and yearly Open Enrollment
    • Assist the Payroll and Benefits Manager with weekly, quarterly, and yearly reporting as needed
    • Address queries about payroll-related issues
    • Maintain employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential
    • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices
    Experience/Qualifications:
    • Associates Degree
    • Minimum one (1) year of experience in Payroll or Human Resources
    • Proactive and independent with the ability to take initiative
    • Excellent interpersonal skills with good negotiation tactics
    • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
    Preferred Skills:
    • Knowledge of and experience with Paycom HRIS
    • Prior retail, restaurant or Union employee payroll experience
    Hours:

    The Payroll Specialist is a full time position and works a minimum of 40 hours per week

    Salary/Income:

    The Payroll Specialist is an exempt, salaried position
