- Applies fire and life safety principles to the design of new fire protection systems including detection and suppression and related systems
- Conducts site audits of fire protection systems performance, as-built conditions, and Code conformance
- Conducts design reviews, shop drawings reviews, construction site visits and verifications for various fire protection systems
- Prepares technical reports and review reports of others
- Coordinates project teams including fire protection technical resources, contractors and other technical disciplines for successful project delivery
- Investigates, advises, and solves unusual design problems
- Manages projects from preparation of proposals through to delivery and close-out and be the primary client contact
- Develops new business opportunities by building relationships with clients and networking in the fire protection industry
- Degree in Engineering and Professional Engineering license
- Minimum of 10 years of fire protection design
- Ability to conduct business development sales is required
- Strong technical skills and strong knowledge of fire protection systems design and construction
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities and contractors
