Position Summary

  • The Clinical Team Lead will oversee the clinical operations and supervision of the ImpACT Permanent Supportive Housing "At Home" Program. This is a sitebased supportive housing program, with 50 clients living at Espero Apartments. The position works closely with the Program Manager in all aspects of client services. The Clinical Team Lead is responsible for assuring that the agency values and philosophy of housing first, client choice, and harm reduction are expressed in all aspects of team practice. The Clinical Team Lead also provides direct services to clients and maintains oversight to ensure that client selfidentified goals for recovery, rehabilitation and community integration are supported by appropriate services and best practices.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities (inclusive but not exhaustive):

Client Services

  • Oversees daytoday clinical operations of assigned clients and clinical activities.
  • Plans and implements client services, in collaboration with team members.
  • Supports harm reduction model by providing nonjudgmental, noncoercive services and resources to individuals engaging in risky behaviors.
  • Provides assessment, triage, and treatment to individuals with mental health disorders.
  • Provide symptom education to enable clients to identify their mental health symptoms.
  • Provide ongoing assessment of clients' mental health symptoms and clients' response to treatment. Make appropriate changes in treatment/service plans to ensure immediate and appropriate interventions are provided in response to changes in mental status or behavior which put clients at risk (e.g., suicidality).
  • Teach behavioral symptom management techniques to alleviate and manage symptoms not reduced with medication and to promote personal growth and development by assisting clients to adapt and cope with internal and external stresses.
  • When necessary, provide preliminary psychiatric diagnosis using current diagnostic criteria.
  • Coordinate with outside programs and facilities to assist clients in identifying and accessing appropriate substance use treatment, including medical detox programs, inpatient and outpatient recovery programs, and selfhelp programs (e.g., Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous). Develop plans for aftercare.
  • Provide ongoing assessment, problemsolving, sidebyside services, skill training, supervision (e.g., promotes, assignments, monitoring, encouragement), and environmental adaptations to assist clients with activities of daily living.
  • Assist and support clients to have and effectively use a personal primary care physician, dentist, and other medical specialists as required.

Supervision

  • In collaboration with the Program Manager and Deputy Director recruits, interviews, and trains new staff.
  • Organizes, develops, motivates, coaches, and supports the team by providing organizational structure, and clinical team supervision.
  • Provides supervision, staff performance evaluations and performance improvement plans.
  • Provides consultation, direction, clinical staffing, debriefing, and support to all assigned staff.
  • Provides inthefield leadership and clinical direction.
  • Establishes operational procedures and monitors client visits and team assignments.
  • Participates in providing clinical care to program participants and cofacilitates team meetings.
  • Conducts consistent supervision meetings with staff.

Collaboration

  • Provides appropriate correspondence to program participants, case managers, clinical staff, community service providers, and other relevant people involved in program care and/or service delivery.
  • Coordinates services of the team with other inpatient and outpatient community treatment, support, and social services.
  • Meets regularly with the Program Manager to address clinical and programmatic needs.
  • Works in collaboration with Program Manager to create a professional development plan.

Client Data and Record Keeping

  • Assures compliance with funder requirements and provides data for written reports requested by funding sources.
  • Supervises electronic and written recordkeeping activities, e.g., databases, incident reports, progress notes and client charts.

Organizational Support Functions

  • Understands and follows related policies for Caritas of Austin.
  • Attends all assigned organizational and team meetings.

Qualifications:


EDUCATION

Required:

Masters in Social Work or another clinical mental health discipline, such as: psychology, counseling, clinical social work, or marriage and family therapy accepted.
