    About the Team:


    The Platform Engineering team is focused on enhancing our products and customer engagement strategies for the ever-evolving financial services landscape. Our platform vision aims to create a connected FIS, offering a wide array of capabilities for Institutions, Merchants, eCommerce, FinTech companies, and Innovators. Powered by cutting-edge technologies and design principles, our team collaborates closely with business, product, and operational teams to expedite our platform's evolution. We are seeking proactive leaders who can drive innovation and implement top-notch platform features.


    * NOTE: Candidates must be located in the Greater Seattle area. The team will convene for project kickoffs, key Agile events, collaborative design sessions, and other essential meetings necessitating in-person presence.


    About the Role:


    The Engineering Manager will play a pivotal role in strategizing, designing, and developing functionalities for the FIS Platform. Collaborating closely with Product Management, Enablement, Architecture, and Platform Services teams, the Platform Delivery team aims to construct a platform to support exciting new products and services. In this role, you will lead a SCRUM team of developers and engineers responsible for conceiving, developing, and implementing these shared capabilities, ensuring they align with functional and non-functional criteria including scalability, reliability, and performance.


    What You Will Be Doing:


    This role offers significant challenges and rewards, presenting a remarkable opportunity to spearhead the platform transformation at FIS:
    • Lead and oversee a team of developers, providing direction, mentorship, and assistance.
    • Architect and produce software solutions
    • Create and integrate APIs for external services and internal systems.
    • Ensure application security and scalability through effective architecture and design.
    • Collaborate with various teams, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure applications meet business needs.
    • Analyze project constraints to identify alternatives, mitigate risks, and conduct process enhancements when necessary.
    • Supervise project timelines, resources, and budgets to guarantee timely and cost-effective project completion.
    • Draft and maintain technical documentation for systems and applications.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve software issues, collaborating with other developers as needed.
    • Stay informed about emerging technologies and industry trends to uphold the relevance and efficiency of applications.
    • Conduct security assessments to pinpoint areas for enhancement.
    • Assist the team in addressing technical issues and obstacles.


    What You Will Need:
    • Curiosity and strong problem-solving abilities
    • Capability to navigate through ambiguity and intricacies
    • Minimum of 10 years experience in software design and development, with at least 5 years in a Technical Lead role
    • Extensive knowledge of software development and delivery pipelines, software testing, databases, and technical documentation.
    • Proficiency in agile and scrum methodologies and DevOps environments with a focus on automation of CI/CD pipelines, build promotions, and code quality testing.
    • Ability to devise solutions using industry-standard methodologies.
    • Effective communication skills with all levels of management in a structured, professional manner, and adept at team management.
    • Hands-on experience across various software development processes with occasional coding responsibilities as necessary.
    • Expertise in Microservices Architecture, design, REST APIs, Security, Testing, and deployments in high-volume environments.
    • Advanced knowledge of JavaScript frameworks like Angular, TypeScript, NodeJS, NestJS, and Material design.
    • Familiarity with monorepo-based development tools such as Nx.
    • Experience working in DevOps environments with emphasis on automation of CI/CD pipelines, build promotions, and code quality testing.
    • Proficiency in utilizing Kubernetes and Dockers for deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
    • Familiarity with Cloud native databases such as PostgreSQL, CosmosDB, etc.


    Educational Requirements:
    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience. Post-graduate education is a plus.


    Added Bonus if You Have:
    • Background in financial services and experience in a fast-paced innovation team is highly advantageous
    • Knowledge of FIS' product and service offerings.
    • Familiarity with the financial services industry or FinTech sector.
    • Understanding and experience with Banking or Card as-a-Service platforms.
