At the County Office of Breisgau-Hochschwarzwald, located in Freiburg, we are looking to fill a full-time position as a clerk with a focus on environmental and water law in the Department of Environmental Law, starting on May 1st, 2023.


Your main responsibilities:


  • Enforcement of environmental and water law for industrial and commercial businesses, as well as for private individuals and municipalities
  • Conducting procedures related to environmental and water law
  • Handling complex procedures as a process guide
  • Processing complaints in the field of environmental protection
  • Processing applications according to the Occupational Safety and Health Ordinance
  • Taking measures in case of deficiencies and for hazard prevention
  • Advising industrial and commercial businesses, planners, citizens, and municipalities

Your qualifications:


  • Bachelor of Arts in Public Management, Administrative Specialist or a comparable professional qualification, or 1st legal examination
  • Excellent knowledge of administrative law and willingness to familiarize oneself with new legal areas
  • Previous experience in public administration is an advantage
  • Ability to work independently and resultoriented, even under high workload
  • Strong communication and conflict resolution skills
  • Friendly, confident demeanor and assertiveness
  • Quick comprehension and good self and time management skills
  • Enjoyment of working in a team
