- Perform physical and chemical analyses using appropriate distillation, titrametric, colorimetric, and instrumental methods to support grape harvest
- Operate, calibrate, and maintain laboratory instruments such as gas chromatographs, high performance liquid chromatographs, atomic absorption spectrometers, and other instruments as required
- Process laboratory samples and prepare chemical solutions according to guidelines
- Collect grape and wine samples from different winery sites and deliver them to various labs in a timely manner
- Utilize electronic devices to communicate work progress, perform data analysis/compilation, and write reports
- Bachelor's or Associate's degree with a minimum of 12 units of completed college level chemistry or biology courses with labs; OR In the process of and will obtain a Bachelor's or Associate's degree when Harvest begins (July/August) with a minimum of 12 units of completed college level chemistry or biology courses with labs; OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 3 years of Laboratory Technician experience reflecting increasing levels of responsibility OR High School Diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate, plus 3 Harvest Seasons as a Gallo Laboratory Assistant.
- Required to possess strong verbal, written, analytical and interpersonal skills.
- Required to lift and carry cases of product that can weigh up to 50 pounds.
- Required to maintain 3 shift availability (day, swing, and graveyard); required to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
- Required to conduct work at extreme heights.
- Required to be at least 21 years of age.
- Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Compensation: Hiring Salary Range Posted: $ $21.00/hourActual compensation paid within the range will be determined by factors such as the education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
