- Assists in the creation of education tools and training based upon identified needs of the hospital
- Assesses content of clinical and non-clinical in-service programs and makes revisions based on performance improvement data, accrediting agency standards, and Risk Management findings.
- Creates, modifies and delivers clinical and non-clinical training programs resulting from needs assessments
- Makes appropriate arrangements to conduct in-service programs such as classroom space, speakers, and training materials.
- Maintains correspondence and communication for in-service programs.
- Maintain documentation of educational training records, resources, and current licenses.
- Utilizes time efficiently in performing duties.
- Initiates work independently without request by supervisor.
- Conducts RN orientation, Psychiatric Technician Orientation, Student Nurse Orientation, Staff Development in-services based on identified needs.
- Coordinates and teaches Handle With Care and Verbal De-Escalation training. Coordinates annual CPR certification.
- Assists new employees with completing the orientation module in HealthStream. Coordinates annual mandatory training in HealthStream with current employees.
- Develops and revises evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness of in-service programs. Provides consultation and training for identified needs. Participates in special Staff Development projects.
- Communicates status of Staff Development in-services to appropriate staff.
- Demonstrates a professional attitude and supports objectives of the hospital's marketing and guest relation philosophy through internal and external communication and interaction with all levels of staff, patients, family members, guests, community, and referral sources.
- Demonstrates the ability to work with a variety of individuals regardless of racial, ethnic, sexual orientation, or sociological backgrounds.
