In Workplace Investing, the Pension Analyst blends deep Defined Benefit domain expertise with a passion for teamwork, innovation and client management.
This role is primarily responsible for establishing a team environment by providing direct leadership, technical expertise and workflow management to associates assigned to their defined benefit clients serviced from a consultative perspective.
In addition, the Analyst will support the strategic direction of the business, lead highly complex issues to resolution and work with domain professionals to solution client improvements and enhancements through corporate actions & change orders.
The Analyst will also engage with other lines of business on projects that affect other Defined Benefit products and services.

The Purpose of Your RoleThe Pension Analyst plays an integral role in operational analytics, workflow, team leadership, and project management for client projects and internal initiatives.
This role will serve as a team leader assisting in associate development, workflow management and operational quality assurance. They will assist Client Managers and Sr. Leaders with initiatives throughout the year, including but not limited to, improvement in execution, change control, and financial improvement.The Expertise You HaveBachelor Degree or equivalent work experience5-10+ years of defined benefit/pension plan administration experienceExperience in Project Management and/or AnalyticsAbility to balance day to day management of several project related responsibilities and tasks including highly prioritized requests.
Demonstrate leadership ability with self-motivation and determinationStrong mathematical and analytical skills including ability to perform complex manual calculations.Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Access and working experience with data analyticsClient Management experienceThe Skills You BringYou have critical thinking and problem solving skills.
You are a leader with self-motivation and determination to succeed and ability to coach and mentor othersYou must be technically inclined with application experience and competence including proficiency with various Defined Benefit Plan structures, complex calculations and data (e.g., Excel, Word, Access, etc.).
Ability to perform calculations using directions documents.Good communication, both verbal and written; ability to implement/facilitate change. Forward looking, analytic, continuous improvement mentalityDemonstrate a mix of analytics and technical skills.
Ability to run queries, analyze and organize large amounts of data and identify root cause and work towards solutionsProject consulting experience including requirement discovery and solution designYou have a solid ability to balance, prioritize multiple projects and understanding of risk management and time managementYou have an ability work within budgeted timeframes to maintain client profitability without sacrificing qualityThe Value You DeliverAnalyze, lead and drive operational services and efficiencies to our clients and organization's bottom line.
Provide leadership on ad hoc client or internal projects that will require critical thinking and self-direction.Provide information and advice on Plan documentation discrepancies and/or guidelines, e.g. data, provisional, or other plan/client issues.
Analyze, review, and guide client teams to the resolution of escalated client or participant issues.
Where applicable, serve as the day-to-day contact for issues to clients and participant for problem resolution, transaction issues, and data questions.
Facilitate and/or participant in client meetingsServe as a team leader and expert guide on multiple client plan processes, procedures and calculations.
Maintain client direction documentsOwn and analyze operational issues and recommend business solutions, based on knowledge of client's plan design and system functionality.
Work with internal teams to identify, analyze, and implement process and procedural changes based on new regulatory amendments and/or administrative improvements.
Play a significant role in implementation, corporate actions and/or other special projects in addition to the provision of ongoing services.
Ensure defects are identified, corrected and tested.Serve as an essential role model and coach to entire operational team and assist in their development and skills.
The TeamThis role will reside within Workplace Investing Defined Benefit Operations organization.
You will be responsible for handling and overseeing the day to day delivery of Defined Benefit client servicing, business reporting, contractual obligations, and internal scale & efficiency initiatives.
You will support DB's interests in collaborating with the cross product/functional SME's, Center of Excellence and other lines of business.
You will work to solve problems and be empowered to make decisions based on trends, issues, and business drivers.Certifications:
