    Jewish Council for Youth Services (JCYS) is a 116-year-old, Chicago-based nonprofit agency that provides early childhood education and camp programs to children of all religions, races, and ethnicities across Chicagoland.

    We are looking for a full-time Front Desk Coordinator to join our team in the Wicker Park area. This person must be able to work

    Monday through Thursday 7:30-3:30 and Friday 9:30-5:30.


    The primary responsibility of our Front Desk Coordinator is to maintain an inviting, positive, clean, and safe lobby in our building.


    Job Responsibilities:
    Let families and visitors in and check identification as necessaryGreet families during drop-off and pick-upAnswer phone calls and emails responding to basic questions from parentsTake messages for other staff as neededMonitor and approve access to the building beyond the reception areaDevelop familiarity with center programs and scheduleGenerate reports (enrollment, attendance, etc.)
    Produce flyers for center events (EG Grandparents night)Provide clerical and administrative support to the center administration and teachers as neededKeep inventory of office and copier supplies and purchases supplies as needed within the established budgetUpdate student files in coordination with early childhood staffOversees copier and printer maintenanceMaintains organization of school enrollment and inquiriesOther duties as assignedRequirements:

    Previous front desk or customer service experienceExcellent written and verbal communication skills including being a good listenerDemonstrates sound judgment and good decision making skillsPositive and energetic attitude


    Physical Demands :


    While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; stand; walk and talk or hear.

    The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

    Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
