Job Description and Duties

Candidates must perform the following functions with or without reasonable accommodations.

Under general direction of the Division Chief or Assistant Division Chief, the Financial Accountant IV manages and participates as a team member in the Bureau of Fiscal Systems and Transactions (BFST), representing the State Controller's Office (SCO) – State Accounting and Reporting Division for purposes of implementing its statutory statewide control agency accounting functions within the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal). The incumbent actively participates as a member of the Executive team in numerous project activities with SCO, FI$Cal team members, project staff, Partner Agencies, and state departments. In addition, the Financial Accountant IV is responsible for implementation and transition of SARD into FI$Cal in which the section develops, designs, and tests the statutory control accounting functions, businessrequirements and processes, and confers with SARD Executive, home staff and the FI$Cal team at all levels, communicating project status, identifying risks and issues, reviewing decision and design documents, developing and providing training, and completing Project tasks.
