    Job Description:


    We are seeking a Senior Specialist, Additive Manufacturing Engineer to join our facility in Canoga Park, CA (Los Angeles area).

    At this facility, we design & manufacture rocket engines and unique power systems that support space exploration & the defense of our nation such as NASA's SLS, Lockheed Martin's THAAD, Sierra Nevada's Dream Chaser, and the Mars Perseverance Rover.

    Essential Functions:

    40% - Manufacturing/Process Engineering

    Improve production rates through continuous process improvementImplement advanced process controls in AM to reduce variationEvaluate and implement safety improvements for the Additive Manufacturing process and material handlingSupport digital manufacturing and data analytics for predictive maintenanceImplement industrial manufacturing best practices for a visual workplaceWork with the factory to implement improvements for post processing of printed hardware, including designing/developing tooling and fixturingGenerating work instructions for printing and post-processing of various 3D printed component40% - Design EngineeringReview part drawings to identify critical features, improvements for additive manufacturingRefine CAD data for design of manufacturingDesign supports, and generate build files for printing20% - Project Management


    Create & maintain a project scheduleLead or participate in implementation of production cell for the printing and post processing of hardware.

    Manage facility upgrades that will help to burn down risks and drive process improvementsWork with subject matter experts across the enterprise to help drive continuous improvement activitiesMonitor supplier activities and work with Purchasing on the acquisition of capital items

    Evaluation of proposed parts for the Additive processGenerate base timing, costs, and schedulingGenerate quotes


    Qualifications:


    Requires a Bachelor's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, Materials or equivalent degree, and five (5) years of professional experience in aerospace, conventional manufacturing, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.

    MS Preferred.

    Minimum of 3 years of experience with metal additive manufacturing (EOS, GE Concept Laser, SLM Solutions, Laser Powder Bed)Exceptional written and oral communication skills to include report writing, requirements derivation, and documentation, as well as design review presentations


    Addional Preferences:


    Experience with CAD design Software SolidWorks and/or Creo,Experience with additive software EOS Print and Materialise MagicsExperience with additive simulation softwareWorking knowledge of inspection methods, including X-Ray, CT, Structured LightExperience with root cause analysis, quality management systems, Microsoft Office Suite, GOM, machine maintenance, flight hardware, working with NASA/GOV, GD&TWorking knowledge of Heat Transfer and Thermal Dynamics with a focus on Additive ManufacturingWorking knowledge of Laser Welding theory, concepts, and or applications with a focus on Additive ManufacturingActive DoD Secret ClearanceWorking experience in utilizing Big Data & Industry 4.

    0 techniques and conceptsExperience with automation in manufacturing work environmentsDesire to work with a team, developing each other's skillsets and furthering one another's knowledgeDesire to educate others on AM technologies and capabilities


    In compliance with pay transparency requirements, the salary range for this role is $92, $171, This is not a guarantee of compensation or salary, as final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to experience and geographic location.
