Position Summary
POSTING FOR UNMC EMPLOYEES ONLY
This position will be responsible for overall coordination of daily operations of the laboratory that includes multiple research initiatives.
Provide expertise related to participation of animal study design, execution and control of research studies in areas of immune-based neuroprotective strategies for both Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases; coordination of the processing and analysis of data amongst students, researchers, and fellows, coordination of the conduct of experimental procedures and tests that include stereology and administration of cell-based therapies; development of new research methodologies, coordination of the isolation and growth parameters for a wide range of neuroprotective and anti-inflammatory therapies.
Oversee each of the laboratory personnel.Maintain compliance with various regulatory agencies; identifies materials needed to be purchased and review of budget and project developmental issues linked to translational research operative from basic, to pre-clinical to human studies.
Responsible for ordering of lab supplies, review lab expenses and maintain adequate supply stock of chemical, tissue culture, and animal reagents and equipment needs.
In conjunction with the principal investigator, contribute with the development of protocols in handling cells, tissues, and microscopic analyses in order to comply with the each of the regulatory entities that oversee the work within the University of Nebraska Medical Center guidelines.
Ensure personnel within the laboratory are trained and comply with these regulatory entities. Additionally, research coordinator will also advise and participate in the design, execution, and supervision of research studies. Assist in the processing and analysis of data that result from these research studies. Help interpret the results of the studies and provide input toward experimental direction. Assist in the preparation of materials for publication and presentation of experimental results.Position Details
