The lakeside city of Nettetal, with a population of around 42,000, is located in the heart of the cross-border Maas-Schwalm-Nette Nature Park in an attractive location between the major cities of Düsseldorf, Krefeld, Mönchengladbach, and the Dutch city of Venlo.

It employs around 550 people.


Do you want to actively contribute to the city development of Nettetal? Then join the team of the Department of Urban Development and Construction as a Landscape Planner (m/f/d).


Your main tasks will include:


  • Providing landscape planning and species protection support for municipal urban planning, including the preparation of environmental reports
  • Developing and implementing impact and compensation calculations/measures and regulations in development plans
  • Coordinating and providing technical support for external landscape planning and species protection services
  • Participating in the development and implementation of climate protection and adaptation strategies in urban planning
  • Coordinating with the Lower Nature Conservation Authority at the Viersen district
  • Providing opinions on landscape and green space plans
  • Conceptual development and continuation of the city's ecological compensation account
  • Advising on and reviewing open space and outdoor area plans during construction consultations/building permits

Your qualifications:


  • Proof of successfully completed academic studies in landscape planning, landscape management, environmental planning, or a comparable qualification.

In addition, we expect:


  • Basic knowledge of building planning law (BauGB)
