Under the supervision of and receiving general direction from a Deputy Labor Commissioner III, in the State Labor Commissioner's Office's (LCO) Bureau of Field Enforcement (BOFE) Program and/or Criminal Investigation Unit (BOFE-CIU), the Management Services Technician (MST) will learn and perform the less technical semi-professional analytical tasks as it relates to the investigation and enforcement of the Industrial Welfare Commission (IWC) orders and laws covering minimum wage, overtime, workers' compensation insurance coverage, child labor, cash pay, unlicensed contractors, and other related enforcement responsibilities, in preparation for potential advancement to entry-level, professional investigatory and/or analytical positions within BOFE.
The level and type of technical work will be based on the Deputy Labor Commissioner III's assessment of the MST's progress made, readiness, and level of interest.

Working Conditions
- This position is located in: San Jose, CA
- Duties are primarily performed in a climatecontrolled office setting possibly in a highrise building; cubicle or shared work space under artificial light, utilizing computer screens and other office equipment; may drive a state vehicle for field work, trainings and other related work. While in the field, exposure to dirt, odors, noise, fumes, uneven surfaces, stairs, highrise buildings, extreme weather conditions, and fastmoving equipment may occur.
