    Position: Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program Director

    Hours: 9:00 am - 5:00 pm (flexible hours possible and to be discussed during interview)

    Summary of Position: The Program Director maintains direct oversight of the clinical and administrative operations of Walker Early Childhood Mental Health Consultation Program. The Program Director will be responsible for establishing a strong early childhood mental health consultation model that guides the program's clinical framework and service provision. Administratively, the Program Director will be responsible for recruiting, hiring, orienting, training, supervising, and managing early childhood mental health consultation staff, comprising clinical consultants and specialized support staff. The Program Director will also be responsible for relationship building in the community, outreach and partnering with centers and collateral agencies, managing the oversight of referrals including receiving, tracking, prioritizing, triaging, and assigning early childhood mental health consultation referrals in a timely and equitable manner. The Program Director will serve as the primary contact for the Department of Early Education and Care (EEC); in this role, the Program Director will stay apprised of EEC contract requirements, ensure compliance with EEC regulations, and develop and maintain relationships with EEC staff and other key stakeholders. The Program Director may also provide direct consultation to centers, families, and/or community partners or agencies.

    Education and Licensure

    Required:

    ● Master's degree in a license-eligible mental health field such as social work, psychology or related field with a focus or experience in early childhood development.

    ● Independently licensed as an LICSW, LMHC, or PhD in the state of Massachusetts.

    ● Demonstrated knowledge, understanding, and expertise of child development, early childhood mental health, early childhood social/emotional screening and assessment tools, prevention and intervention techniques, local resources, and early childhood mental health consultation.

    ● Demonstrated knowledge and experience in relationship-based professional development, technical assistance practices, and adult learning methods.

    ● Demonstrated knowledge and experience working with diverse populations.

    ● Valid MA Driver's License and Vehicle Insurance.

    Preferred:

    ● Have received the following training/certifications:

    ● Climate of Healthy Interactions for Learning & Development (CHILD) Assessment

    ● Devereux Early Childhood Assessment-Clinical (DECA-C) Assessment

    ● DC: 0-5 Diagnostic Classification of Mental Health and Developmental Disorders of Infancy and Early Childhood Training

    ● Infant Mental Health Endorsement through MassAIMH

    ● Be endorsed, working towards endorsement or have a plan in place to begin the process to achieve the Endorsement for Culturally-Sensitive, Relationship-Focused Practice Promoting Infant Mental Health and/or Early Childhood Mental Health.

    Experience

    Required:

    ● 5+ years of managerial and clinical experience in a therapeutic treatment setting that serves young children and caregivers; proficiency in the use of computer systems for clinical information management; excellent oral and written communication skills; demonstrated ability to produce written reports in a timely manner; and strong supervisory experience.

    Preferred:

    ● Experience supervising/managing early childhood services. Experience generating budgets, tracking financial growth, and maximizing opportunities for program development and expansion.

    Abilities Required:

    ● Proven ability to work independently, manage time, prioritize tasks, complete assignments, work on multiple projects simultaneously, and meet deadlines.

    ● Ability to meet deadlines and follow through with multiple projects simultaneously.

    ● Ability to respond to and follow through with requests professionally.

    ● Ability to adapt and be flexible in a constantly changing environment that adjusts to meet organizational and community needs.

    ● Excellent skills in written and verbal communication including correspondence, reports, and reflective supervision.

    ● Proficient in the use of Zoom and Microsoft Office (including Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), and other computer functions.

    ● Ability to sit at workstation for prolonged periods of time, consistent with OSHA suggestions and requirements.

    ● Ability to access different building locations, equipment, mailboxes, etc.

    ● Ability to drive to offsite meetings and events throughout the communities served in a reliable personal vehicle (mileage reimbursement available).

    ● Ability to lift packages up to 10 pounds.

    Essential Functions:

    1. Lead a multidisciplinary team of clinical/consultative and support staff and interns[SL1] [ER2] [ER3] to support the social-emotional, behavioral, and educational development of children the program consults about.
    2. Recruit, hire, orient, train, supervise, and manage program staff and interns.
    3. Support the clinicians/consultative and support staff and interns with the implementation of current and new agency-wide and or program-specific programming (e.g., trauma-informed care, CBT, wellness efforts).
    4. Ensure the collection, review, analysis, and reporting of data related to outcomes for children, families, and programs served.
    5. Facilitate team meetings and training for staff, interns, childcare providers, parents/caregivers, and external stakeholders.
    6. Oversee contract requirements and compliance with EEC regulations. Participate in all required meetings and all required data/tracking/reporting.
    7. Oversee documentation keeping requirements, compliance, and quality.
    8. Provide consultation and support to staff, interns, clients, and collateral agencies as needed.
    9. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders and referral sources.
    10. Properly attend to administrative functions, including attending required meetings, completing assigned oral and written reports, and actively participating in supervision and professional development opportunities at Walker.
    11. Regularly attend weekly supervision, staff meetings, and trainings.
    12. Follow and implement all Walker policies and procedures.
    13. Function as an ambassador for Walker.
    14. Participate in operational meetings and initiatives to help the organization with continuous development and an organizational culture of positivity and excellence.
    15. All other duties as assigned.

    Supervision to be received: Biweekly supervision by the Senior Director of Behavioral Health and Community Services or designee.

    Supervision to be exercised: Supervision of clinicians/consultants, family support specialists, behavior support specialists, and interns.
