Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center is currently seeking a
Registered Nurse-Full Time who will be responsible and accountable for the effective overall management of clinical services and for providing quality nursing care to all elders.


Responsibility lies in coordinating three major areas:
Elder care, Administration of Medications and treatment and Clinical Assessments of the Elders.

The Neighborhood Nurse is accountable to the Quality of Care Advisor of the neighborhood or the designated Supervisor of the shift and the Assistant Community Advisor.

Elizabeth Rehabilitation and Nursing Center provides a comprehensive array of individualized rehabilitation and nursing services, including short-term rehabilitation, skilled nursing care, memory care and in-patient hospice care.


JOB DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:


  • Utilizes nursing process prioritizing care in decisionmaking when identifying problems and implementing activities
related to elder care.

  • Maintains necessary elder care documentation per policies and procedures and as required by State and Federal
regulations.

  • Follows and reviews nursing care plans for individual elders on an ongoing basis.
  • Administers direct nursing care to selected elders to maintain clinical competence and/or to assess nursing care
requirements of a particular elder.

  • Works collaboratively with staff, peers and other health care professionals to ensure effective clinical management of
elder care and practices.

  • Demonstrates ability to provide Elder care consistent with policies and procedures
  • Maintains an environment that promoted quality of life on the Neighborhood.
  • Evaluates assignments for nursing staff based on elder care needs and neighborhood needs.
  • Participates in the evaluation process of nursing staff.
  • Maintains adequate supplies on neighborhood and contains costs.
  • Assists new staff members in the adjustment and orientation process.
  • Works Collaboratively with al staff members and Volunteers on designated shift.
  • Seeks assistance from Assistant Community Advisor, Quality of Care Advisor, or Supervisor as necessary in addressing
clinical issues.

  • Notifies Assistant Community Advisor or Supervisor in verbal and written form of any substandard work performance
that requires disciplinary action.

  • Adheres to Infection Control and environmental safety procedures.
  • Delegates tasks to appropriate staff to ensure effective functioning of the unit.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:


  • Graduate from a State approved school of nursing. Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Maryland.
  • Must be CPR certified. Must possess clinical experience in longterm care and the Dementia population.
  • Must be able to lift a minimum of fifty
- (50) lbs. with or without accommodation.

  • Must be able to see and hear or use prosthesis that will enable these senses to function.
  • Obtains annual PPD and meets other regulatory requirements.
