ECC is seeking a Senior Environmental Engineer.This office and field positionis primarily responsible for project engineering and maintenance; and willplan, select, coordinate and implement scientific and engineering servicesto fully address the scope of work on environmental remediation and hazardouswaste management projects in accordance with Company standards, regulatorycriteria, and contractual obligations.
The position requires an Engineeringdegree. Travel is required approximately 10-20% of the time to projectlocations mostly in the mid-west and west regions. Position is located in ourLakewood, CO office.In the position you will:
Consult and collaborate work with Project Manager, Site Superintendent, aswell as Health and Safety, Quality Control, Project Controls,Estimating, and Contracts representatives to properly plan, coordinate andensure progress of deliverables per the approved budget and scheduleEvaluate, select, design and apply appropriate environmental technologiesand cost-effective solutions to remediate or remove contaminants and meetproject objectivesPlan, prepare, review, and issue project and field submittals withinapproved budget including but not limited to pre-construction plans, designdocuments, testing plans, analytical reports, shop drawings, fieldsubmittals, operation/ maintenance reports, closure reports and as-builtrecordApply industry standards of practice for selected technology, adhering toregulatory codes and standards, national/ local standards, and company SOPs.
Identify, address and communicate technical, operational and businessrisks relevant to the selected project approach and technology to the ProjectManager and Project EngineerAuthor RFQs and assist in procurement and selection of technical and specialtysubcontractors, consultants and service providers to accomplish scope of workReport to the field to perform hands-on and/or inspect fieldwork to ensurecompliance with approved designs and plansReview work of personnel, subcontractors and consultants to ensurecompliance with approved plans and acceptable tolerances.
Ensure that appropriate and required testing is completed by qualifiedpersonnel using properly calibrated equipment Evaluate, review, monitorand document results and help make necessary decisions/ adjustments toprocedurComplete related documentation (field reports, completion reports orrelated regulatory documents, logs, meeting minutes, online submittalsites, etc.) in a timely, detailed and accurate manner Investigate andrecommend solutions in response to field changes, RFIs, and resolvefieldwork or construction issues related to quality, technology, installedequipment, and operationIn addition to the accountabilities above, other responsibilities,tasks, and deliverables may be assigned to the incumbent of this position.
RequirementsThe ability to communicate in written or verbal formats with diplomacy andtactAn aptitude for exercising independent thinking and reasoningStrong organizational skills, and skilled at leading dispersed teams toaccomplish tasks and activities adhering to established budget and scheduleSkilled in achieving project objectives by properly reviewing/ inspectingwork for adherence to approved technical plans, drawings and specificationsDemonstrated knowledge applying engineering and industry standards of practiceand regulatory codes and standards to environmental and field techniquesProven knowledge in reading and comprehending client requirements, technicalplans, specifications, and related technical documentationSuccessful track record in effectively engaging with and/or directingsubcontractorsAbility to mentor and guide team members and share lessons learnedDedicated to remaining abreast of technology developments and industry trendsCompetent in using Microsoft Office products, email systems, and WindowsTen years of pro ressively responsible experience performing in-situ orex-situ environmental systems design, field engineering support, orquality control on environmental remediation or hazardous waste managementprojectsEngineer certification - PEHAZWOPER 40 Hour Certification with 8 Hour RefresherKnowledge of CERCLA and RCRA regulatory requirementsUSACE Contractor Quality Management for Contractors certificationTwo years of field engineering support or quality control experienceUS Government contracting experienceStrong technical writing skillsActive membership in professional organizationsTen plus years of experience in environmental engineering preferred.
Education - Education: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering,Civil Engineering or closely related Engineering degree.Preferred QualificationsMaster's degree in Engineering, Engineering Management, ConstructionManagement, or Business Professional preferredEngineering, quality, or environmental credential (e.g., CQA, EPI)Active membership in professional organizationsECC targeted salary range for Denver, CO is $100,000 to $115,000annually.
