Job DescriptionPOSITION DESCRIPTION
POSITION TITLE:CLINICAL DIRECTOR - ACT
POSITION SUMMARY
ACT is a service delivery model with the primary goal of recovery through community treatment. Its target population is those with challenging and persistent mental health issues. The ACT model is characterized by a team approach, shared caseload, time-unlimited services, flexible service delivery, and 24/7 crisis availability. In its structure the Assertive Community Treatment (ACT) assumes responsibility for directly providing needed treatment, rehabilitation, and support services to identified clients.
The ACT Program Director provides leadership through the ACT Team Leader who supervises and evaluates the multidisciplinary team in conjunction with appropriate psychiatric support to ensure service excellence and courteous, helpful, and respectful services to program clients and may also function as a practicing clinician on the team.
Duties and Responsibilities
· Provide oversight and monitor the daily clinical operation of the ACT team, scheduling staff work hours, on call coverage, daily staff meetings, treatment planning meetings, continuously evaluating the status of clients and plan appropriate to address changing needs.
· Direct /coordinate and monitoring of admission process, treatment, rehabilitation, and support services with the prescriber. Follow up and evaluate Admission interviews, coordinate /monitor initial assessment and treatment plan, review assignment of appropriate treatment team to clients, and provide leadership and/oversight on clinical supervision of the development of the comprehensive assessment and treatment plan for each client.
· Monitor /coordinate clinical assessment and provide clinical treatment, rehabilitative and support services.
· Oversee the organization and operation of the on-call duty for crisis intervention, staff supervision and consultation.
· Provide leadership in staff recruitment and orientation, work assignment, performance, and supervision. Develop/Implement staff training programs for orientation, knowledge, and skill development.
· Participate in medical records management, assuring maintenance of medical records in compliance with agency, local, state, and federal policies.
· Review, monitor and document quality-assurance activities and review use of program services.
· Review and maintain program policies and procedures and revise when necessary.
· Scope of Responsibility - Familiarizes self with the formal and informal departmental goals, standards, regulations, policies, and procedures which may include some familiarity of other departments within the agency.
· Decision Making - On a regular and continuous basis, exercises sound judgment and assumes responsibility for decisions, consequences and results having an impact on people, costs and/or quality of service within the overall service area.
· Initiate and maintain relationships within agency and outside agencies for referral and linkage sources as well as knowledge and regulatory authorities.
Requirements
· Licensure: Current DC LICSW or LPC
· Experience: At least 3 years' experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness.
· Academic: At least a graduate degree in relevant field
