Clinical Director

Position Function_**:

Responsible for providing overall management of clinical and client related mental health services for the agency by planning, developing, managing, and evaluating the services delivered to promote comprehensive quality care to consumers and communities.

Provide clinical oversight and supervision to Clinical Managers and other direct care and administrative staff. Develop, plan and implement strategies for program continuation and growth. Must have the ability to think globally, solve problems and have good decision-making skills, including critical thinking skills.

Educational Requirement_**:
Master's degree in social work. Doctorate Preferred.

Licensure and/or Certification_**:

Must be a licensed Clinical Social Worker (LICSW)/ (LCSW-C) in Washington, DC and Maryland or LCPC or LPC in Maryland or DC.

Experience Requirements_**:
Minimum of Five (5) years supervisory experience as a LICSW/LCSW-C. Evidence of effective professional writing and strong leadership skills.

Key Expectations/Responsibilities:
_**Essential Functions:
  • Plan, direct and manage operational policies and procedures in accordance with all licensing and regulatory governing bodies and COA
  • Oversee all program(s) staff and provide regular oneonone supervision to key staff members (i.e., Clinical Managers, quality assurance, intake ).
  • Ensure regular feedback and guidance is provided for employee development and enhanced productivity.
  • Administer the performance evaluations and performance management process.
  • Participate in the selection and termination of staff.
  • Promote a positive work environment.

Planning

  • Assess, develop and implement program(s) services appropriate to the needs of clients and their families.
  • Establish, review and implement program(s) policies and procedures.
  • Regularly evaluate services and implement plans, with measurable outcomes, for continual improvement

Implementation:


  • Establish and maintain working relationships with stakeholders and other community agencies to ensure a steady flow of eligible clients to program(s).
  • Continuously consider new processes and initiatives to improve and/or expand services as appropriate.
  • Resolves problems encountered during daily operations, determines appropriate solutions, and promotes teamwork.
  • Review and process major unusual incident reports with appropriate staff.
  • Provide information on program(s) goals and objectives, treatment plans, resources and other pertinent information to appropriate collaterals as needed.
  • Monitors the compilation of statistical data and maintenance of departmental reports and records and share appropriate feedback with staff.
  • Develops or modifies work plans, methods, and procedures, determines work priorities, and develops work schedules to provide adequate staff coverage.
  • Provides work instruction, assists employees with difficult and/or unusual assignments, and encourages innovation.
  • Provide 24hour oncall support and monitoring rotating coverage to assure 24/7 on call program(s) support.

Training and Supervision:


  • Encourages regular communication and informs staff of relevant business issues and their impact on the organization.
  • Documents causes for disciplinary action, initiate's letters of reprimand, and make formal recommendation for disciplinary action. Responds to formal and informal employee grievances and prepares written responses.
  • Complete other duties as assigned by the CEO.
