- Directing facility maintenance operations for an 80,000-square foot, multi-disciplinary laboratories complex.
- Evaluating needs and establishing regular and routine programs to maintain and repair the facility, equipment, and systems.
- Coordinating minor construction, alteration, and repair to existing facilities.
- Developing short and long-range strategic plans for maintenance.
- Ensuring core business services are efficient, innovative, and transparent.
- Updating aging and inefficient equipment.
- Improving organizational health and expanding workforce development.
- Protecting the health and safety of workers while on the job.
- Supervising contractor and trades workers.
- Overseeing and performing operational maintenance of all environmental and facility systems (i.e., HVAC, surveillance, fire and suppression system, and (GSHP)-Ground Source Heat Pump) that support laboratory testing.
- Three (3) years of supervisory experience in facilities maintenance with a minimum of two (2) years of experience managing and scheduling a building maintenance crew.
- Must have two (2) or more years of experience operating and maintaining HVAC systems, steam systems, and operating building control systems, in a regulated environment.
- Experience in construction, maintenance, and repair of buildings; plumbing and electrical systems and building fixtures and equipment; and supplies used in building and equipment maintenance; laboratory equipment and supplies.
- Four-year college degree in engineering or plant operations.
- Three (3) or more year's experience in laboratories facilities maintenance performing significant job duties.

- The Plant Manager 3 will be required to undergo a security (background) check to comply with federal Select Agent program requirements.
- Participate in emergency response exercises and emergency events/high-priority assignments as assigned.
- Manual labor and office work is performed. The hazards in these setting include potential exposure to both biological and chemical agents. Biological agents include human bacterial and viral pathogens and non-pathogens. Chemical and radiological agents include chemicals that are acids, bases, teratogens, and carcinogens of a variety of classes and types. Physical hazards include confined space entry, falls, ergonomic lifting injuries, and others.
