Innovative Technologies Corporation (ITC) is currently seeking an experienced Information System Security Officer (ISSO) to support the Secretary of the Air Force (SAF/AA) Concepts, Development, and Management Office (CDM) in the planning and acquisition of cost-effective, critical capabilities to support the war-fighting mission of the combatant commanders, military services, government agencies, allies, and mission partners - this contract provides a multi-functional range of professional services including program management, project management/acquisition support, financial management support, systems engineering, Information Technology (IT) support, administrative support, security support, and intelligence support.

Clearance Required:


  • DoD Top Secret eligible (no SECRET or Public Trust)

Education Required:

Master's Degree in the stated discipline - OR - Bachelor's Degree plus 4 years additional work experience (cybersecurity, information systems, computer science, system design, operations research, or a related technical field)


Experience Required:


  • Ten (10) years ISSO or cyber security (architect, network, etc) experience plus six (6) years specific functional ISSO experience within the DoD with increasing progressive experience
  • Expertise in oral and written English communications skills, including developing/updating/maintaining procedures and writing white papers/reports/briefings/minutes; advanced skills in the Microsoft Office environment is essential (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)

Required Certification:


  • IAM Level II certification (i.e., CAP, CASP+ CE, CISM, CISSP, GSLC, or CCISO) mandatory, CEH desirable. Shall comply with DoD established Directive 8140.

Required Qualifications:


  • Experience supporting technical (cyber) security of military systems
  • Two (2) years or more experience actively supporting multilevel technical security solutions in coalition or bilateral military informationsharing efforts; deployed supporting coalition or bilateral environments a plus.
  • Three (3) years or more experience as a staff action officer (e.g. DoD Executive Staff, Joint Staff, Service Staff, COCOM staff, or equivalent), and may be included in the years of technical experience.
  • Experience with Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization
  • Experience with Continuous Monitoring, Cyber Incident Handling, Vulnerability Management, and Malware Protection
  • Experience with System Life Cycle Management processes (e.g., Engineering Change Management, Configuration Management)
  • Experience with Security Assessments/Evaluations/Reviews
  • Experience with DoDIN Connection Approval Process and Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP)

Desired/Bonus Qualifications:


  • One or more of the following: SAF/CDM experience, SETA contractor experience, US Air Force (civilian, military, or contractor) experience, Headquarters/Joint Staff/COCOM experience


This hands-on Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA)* position directly supports military and civilian US government agencies, our Allied and Partner Nations communications and intelligence capabilities, and works side by side with government architecture and engineering professionals, acquisitions and procurement experts, engagement specialists, and administrative support to align with DoD objectives.


ISSOs may support a variety of cyber and technical security aspects, including Risk Management Framework (RMF) and system authorization, Cyber Incident Handling, System Life Cycle Management Processes (e.g., Engineering Change and Configuration Management), Vulnerability Management, Malware Protection, Security Assessments/Evaluations/Reviews, Continuous Monitoring, DODIN Connection Approval Process, and Cybersecurity Service Provider (CSSP).

*SETAs: We set high standards and expectations for our SETAs. We expect SETAs to maintain independent thinking and action with little to no government or senior contractor oversight or direction, a strong work ethic to seek out and remedy shortfalls and gaps, have a willingness to serve to further the mission; to self-task, prioritize, and complete assigned work within a timely manner with executive-level deliverables, provide assistance to others as needed; and, to be in regular communications across multiple platforms with team members, co-workers, government counterparts, and Mission Partners regarding status, upcoming milestones, issues/blockers, and remedying solutions in an environment where authorities and priorities are not always clear, or can be conflicting. SETAs often do the unglamorous, behind-the-scenes work, but ensure the mission is planned, executed, and delivered. Attention to detail is essential, mínimal supervision should be expected, and initiative is rewarded.
