Contract Support Specialist (DC Metro)


Innovative Technologies Corporation is currently seeking a Contract Support Specialist in support of a major US Air Force multi-national communications program headquartered in Fairfax, VA (near Fair Oaks).

The position is primarily located at Joint Base Andrews, MD, or Fort Washington, MD, but other locations may include Fairfax, VA; 1-2 days per week onsite expected depending on government requirements.


Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's Degree in finance, accounting, business management (acquisitions or contracting emphasis), or a related field
  • At least five (5) years of experience performing DoD contracting, with emphasis in contract management, contract support, contract administration, sourcing, and negotiations; additional contracting experience
  • At least four (4) years US Air Force contract management experience
  • Expertise in oral and written English communications skills; advanced skills in the Microsoft Office environment is essential (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, SharePoint)

Requirements (language should be reflected in submitted resume):

  • Experience in US Air Force source selection methods, and/or major sole source procurement methods
  • Experience contracting for major systems, service, and/or R&D contracts (or otherwise complex contracts) using a range of contracting methodologies
  • Experience in leading customer interactions
  • Experience with US Air Force procurements methods including cost or price analysis, market research, solicitations, negotiations, and preparation of contract documentation
  • Experience in managing contracts "cradle to grave"
  • Experience maintaining contract file folders, preparing contract modifications, pre and post award solicitation documentation, assisting with negotiation positions, and reviewing and processing invoices
  • Experience working with DoD contract writing systems; CON-IT is preferred, and previous experience with ConWrite will be acceptable

Nice to Have

  • Experience as an Air Force Contracting Officer, or Contracting Officer Representative
  • Experience leading a contracting team
  • Previous experience as a SETA
  • Experience with the CJB process including narrative and resource input
  • CONWRITE experience
Position is funded and available for immediate placement. (TAPS Positions 067)


This hands-on Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA)* position directly supports military and civilian US government agencies and our Allied and Partner Nations communications and intelligence capabilities and works side by side government contracting specialists to support DoD objectives.

The Contract Support Specialist provides contract support to include soliciting, evaluating, negotiating, and awarding contracts; analysis of cost or price proposals; and, developing acquisition documents and managing procurements.

This position requires an active SECRET DoD Clearance. 10% travel may be required, plus travel within the DC Metro.

*SETAs: We set high standards and expectations for our SETAs. We expect SETAs to maintain independent thinking and action with little to no government or senior contractor oversight or direction, a strong work ethic to seek out and remedy shortfalls and gaps, and a willingness to serve to further the mission; to self-task, prioritize, and complete assigned work within a timely manner with executive-level deliverables, and assistance to others as needed; and, to be in regular communications across multiple platforms with team members, co-workers, government counterparts, and Mission Partners regarding status, upcoming milestones, issues/blockers, and remedying solutions in an environment where authorities and priorities are not always clear, or can be conflicting. SETAs often do the unglamorous, behind-the-scenes work, but ensure the mission is planned, executed, and delivered.


Salary:
$90,000 - $110,000 based on experience, plus medical/dental/vision benefits, 13 days PTO and 7 days sick time; other benefits available.
