This is what you will do:
We are seeking a motivated Associate Scientist III to work in our multidisciplinary and collaborative Small-Molecule Research team.

This individual will conduct laboratory experiments and generate and interpret scientific data as part of our discovery process leading to development of small-molecule drugs for rare diseases.

You will be responsible for:

Serving as a key member of the smallmolecule biology team.
Performing laboratory assessments of smallmolecule compound activity and selectivity by in vitro methods such as biochemical assays, cellbased assays, and cell free assays.
Analyzing results of laboratory assays and delivering reliable and timely results.
Developing new assays and troubleshooting existing assays as needed for progress of discovery projects, with guidance from senior team members.
Working collaboratively with fellow team members, maintaining laboratory equipment and infrastructure, and performing other activities as needed.
Preparing protocols and study reports as assigned.
Actively participating in team meetings to discuss project findings and next steps.

You will need to have:

Bachelor's degree with 35 years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical industry research, or a Master's degree with 13 years of experience in academic or pharmaceutical industry research.
Demonstrated laboratory experience and skills at performing in vitro reactions and assays.
Strong organizational and relationship building skills and the ability to multitask and function independently within a team context.
The duties of this role are generally conducted in a lab environment. As is typical of a labbased role, employees must be able, with or without an accommodation to: lift/carry 15/30 pounds unassisted/assisted; work comfortably in a controlled environment with and around biological, infectious, and hazardous materials; gown/degown PPE; use a computer; engage in communications via phone, video, and electronic messaging; engage in problem solving and nonlinear thought, analysis, and dialogue; collaborate with others; maintain general availability during standard business hours

We would prefer for you to have:

Experience in drug discovery and/or assay development.
Strong learning agility and desire to learn new techniques.
