The Position:Additionally, the Real Property Manager will excel at professional presentation and public speaking. They will be expected to work with a significant amount of autonomy and use discretion and confidentiality with information related to the City's property holdings.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:


Minimum Qualifications:


Education and Experience

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in engineering, finance, public or business administration, or a closely related field; and five (5) years of progressively responsible property management and real estate experience, including appraisal and negotiation for acquisition, rental, and sale of real property and right-of way work; or an equivalent combination of related education, training and experience.

Supervisory and real property management experience in a public agency is preferred.


Licenses, Certifications, and Equipment

A valid California driver's license is required.
Real estate and property management licenses/certifications are desired.
Right of Way Certification is highly desired IRWA (RWA, RWP, SR-WA)

Tier I Employees hired before 10/3/11:
CalPERS 2.

7% at 55; Classic members with less than 6 months separation:
CalPERS 2% at 55, single highest year plan. New members, CalPERS 2% at 62, three highest year average plan.

  • The City contributes $1, Employee Only), $1, Employee+1), or $1, Employee+Family) for medical, dental and vision premiums.
  • Eligible employees who waive all medical, dental, vision, supplemental life, and supplemental AD&D benefits will receive an annual "Health Insurance Waiver Stipend" of $4,000.00 every first paycheck of December.

Administrative Leave - 80 hours upon hired, accrued annually July 1 of each fiscal year; 20 hour carry over limit.

(FLSA exempt positions only)

  • Vacation 80 hours annually, accrued biweekly; available for use after one (1) year.
  • Sick Leave 96 hours annually, accrued biweekly; available for use after ninety (90) days.
  • 13 holidays, plus 18 hours of floating holiday time.

  • The City provides Term Life and AD&D Insurance.

  • Optional Deferred Compensation Plan, flexible benefits plan, pretax childcare plan, employee assistance program, and all other benefits which are received by Management/Confidential unit employees of the City per Memorandum of Understanding.
