Description
Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opening for a Quality Engineer within our Coatesville location. As a? Quality Engineer , youll be responsible for supporting daily quality activities which include the technical review of customer specifications, order setup, product inspection and testing, verifying product compliance to standards, product / process improvement, and ensuring quality system compliance. The i deal candidate will have prior steel industry experience, an engineering degree, be self-motivated, and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.
Summary of Responsibilities:
+ Ensure compliance with safety, quality,?and environmental standards.???
+ Provide metallurgical and technical support for product and process improvement through data analysis, problem-solving, expertise in area of responsibility, metallurgical and mechanical concepts, and knowledge of customer operations and markets.?
+ Monitor?product and process variability and performance to standards.?
+ Meet with representatives of customers/processors to provide innovative solutions to quality issues and provide customers with timely warranty solutions.?
+ Participate in the management of material flow through the disposition of distressed material in accordance with customer and internal standards and business imperatives.?
+ Participate in the order design & order entry systems approving incoming new inquiries and orders, setting product capabilities, changing/improving existing order process designs, and creating/following product trials.?
+ Provide technical solutions to internal and external customers by understanding manufacturing and product capability.?
+ Communicate with upstream and downstream operations and non-Cleveland-Cliffs?contractors to coordinate work, deliveries, and service.?
Minimum Qualifications
+ Bachelors degree?(B.S.)?in?Metallurgy or related field?.
+ Strong problem-solving and data analysis skills.
+ Interpersonal skills and the ability to operate effectively within a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.?
Preferred Requirements
+ Ideal candidates will have 2 to 5 years of experience dealing with manufacturing processes.
+ Experience with steel production is a plus.
