    ManTech is seeking a Safety Specialist to help support our current SED contract with the Marine Corps System Command.

    Reviews, analyzes and prepares contractor, sub-contractor and customer program submits, including accident risk assessment reports; preliminary hazard analysis, system hazard analyses, tracking system and system inspection checklists, ground and range safety and orbital safety procedures and accident and incident investigation analyses; reviews and analyzes program development documentation for new and ongoing program including design criteria, specification and drawing, test operations and maintenance procedures, safety equipment and personal protective clothing, trade-off studies and siting plans; conducts independent and complex analyses to evaluate system design, accident risk factors and hazard energy sources and recommends major abatement or mitigation actions to prevent or correct safety hazards; prepares test plans, monitors results and prepares final test reports; conducts special analyses as directed.

    General Responsibilities :

    Duties included work planning, special assignments, scheduling, and providing guidance to subordinates on technical and administrative matters. Review inspection reports and ergonomics surveys ensuring accuracy and providing recommendations. Examine and evaluate organizational safety program management based on knowledge of OSHA, State, DoD, Marine Corps, and other Federal Safety Standards as they relate to the installation's ground safety program.

    Able to carefully assess full scope of mission requirements and develop achievable safety goals through the use of the Enterprise Safety Application Management System (ESAMS). Comfortable briefing all organizational tiers and well versed at decision making justification for plan development and execution.

    General Responsibilities :

  • Managing safety or occupational health program elements.
  • Developing and recommending safety and occupational health policy to higher levels of management.
  • Applying safety and occupational health laws, regulations, principles, theories, practices, and procedures to advise on or resolve technical matters dealing with occupational safety and health requirements.
  • Developing safety and occupational health practices, and procedures to eliminate or control potential hazards.
  • Developing or implementing programs to reduce the frequency, severity, and cost of accidents and occupational illnesses.
  • Analyzing or evaluating new and existing jobs, processes, products, or other systems to determine the existence, severity, probability, and outcome of hazards.
  • Designing or modifying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems to control or eliminate hazards.
  • Inspecting or surveying workplaces, processes, products, or other systems for compliance with established safety and occupational health policies or standards and to identify potential new hazards.
  • Training of workers, supervisors, managers, or other safety and occupational health personnel in safety or occupational health subjects.
  • Mandatory Skills Requirements:

  • Requires Bachelor's Degree and 0-1 years of experience. Additional years of experience can be substituted in lieu of degree (1-4 years of experience)
  • Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Regulations
  • National Environmental Protection Act (NEPA)
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Physical Requirements :

    Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50%
