Your responsibilities:


Your task in the central department of collections and storage is the curatorial care, cataloging, qualification, and communication of the collections of the LVR Industrial Museum in the field of plastic objects and everyday culture since the 19th century.

As an outstanding part of the collection, these holdings include the deposit of over 25,000 objects from the Kunststoff-Museums-Verein (German Plastic Museum), which has been located at the LVR Industrial Museum's central storage facility, the Peter-Behrens-Bau in Oberhausen, since 2017.

You will work in a team that organizes storage management/inventory and restoration as central collection services for the network of LVR Industrial Museums and work closely with the Digital Museum/Documentation team, as well as the scientific curators of the seven museum locations.


This includes in particular:

  • Qualification and cataloging of the collection of plastics/everyday culture
  • Initiating and participating in cataloging and research projects
  • Participation in documentation
  • Coordinating function externally, with the Kunststoff-MuseumsVerein, among others, for new acquisitions and loan requests
