    Description

    Legal Assistant (Direct Hire)

    Our client, a prominent law firm in Jersey City is seeking an experienced Legal Assistant.

    The ideal candidate should have 3-5 years of experience, providing specialized administrative support to partners and attorneys with preparation of legal documents and correspondence. Main functions include calendar management, client billing and e-Docket filing (New Jersey). Having experience within insurance law is a plus attribute..

    Location: Jersey City, New Jersey

    Compensation: $60,000 - $65,000

    Responsibilities:

    • Calendar management for the legal team, schedule client appointments, and assist with coordinating internal/external meetings
    • Filing case documents in an organized manner for easy access, both electronically and physical copies (E-filing New Jersey)
    • Manage and organize case files and documents i.e., editing documents, revising from notes, organizing binders, and creating a table of contents
    • Communicating with clients, witnesses, and vendors for litigation cases
    • Preparing legal documents and case arguments for attorneys
    • Taking meeting minutes and transcribing dictation
    • Assist with ad hoc assignments to serve the team

    Qualifications:

    • 3-5 years of legal assistant experience (insurance preferred)
    • Litigation experience preferred
    • E-filing with NJ law, Netdocs or similar software
    • Organized, neat, and concise
    • Great written and verbal communication skills
    • MS Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams), Zoom, and Adobe/PDF
