Responsibilities

As an emergency medical technician at Meadow Oaks, you will provide care for sick and injured individuals in emergency situations until a doctor arrives.

With lights and sirens, you will drive the ambulance to a car accident and assist the paramedic or emergency medical technician in treating wounds or reviving patients.

Whether it's a child accidentally ingesting cleaning products or a cyclist falling, you will quickly respond and provide emergency medical care.


On site, you will quickly assess the health status of the injured and sick, stop bleeding, perform artificial respiration, or prepare infusions.

You know how to make seriously injured individuals transportable and monitor your patient's bodily functions on board the ambulance using modern medical equipment.


Your medical skills are not only needed in emergency situations: you also ensure that seriously ill patients are safely and gently transported to the hospital.

While the ambulance driver is responsible for driving the transport vehicle, you, as the transport leader, are responsible for ensuring that your patients' health remains stable.

Emergency medical technicians are team players and an integral part of emergency response.

You will typically support doctors and paramedics or emergency medical technicians, but also work independently and autonomously in a medical capacity.

After each emergency response, you will disinfect and clean the vehicle as a team, ensuring that the ambulance can quickly respond again.
