Our Milhouse team is searching for a Billing Project Accountant We are looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented team member who is able to work independently to support the accounting functions of our rapidly growing organization.
If you are looking to be challenged, and also be provided an opportunity to grow and develop even further within the EPC industry- please apply directly, we would love to hear from you Come be a part of something greatWhat you will do:Prepare invoices for all assigned projects on a monthly, interim, and milestone basisEnter all financial paperwork into the accounting system to ensure timely and accurate job cost information.
This includes owner and sub change orders, owner billings, budget transfers, subcontractor pay requirements, payroll and accounts payable invoices, etcMonitor and collect aged receivablesResponsible for project cost/schedule monitoring, which includes monitoring of actual vs.
financial percent completes, provide suggestions for proactive cost control improvements, monitor employee hours charged to projects on a weekly basis and monitor sub-consultant/subcontractor invoices/payments against the contract termsResponsible for understanding the areas of compensation and payment clauses, overhead rates, revenue enhancers per the contractual terms of a projectUnderstand the nature of the project cost systems and the information processed.
Bring issues to the attention of the Controller and the Project Manager for assistance and further evaluationProvide information to appropriate staff regarding project statusParticipate in project kick off and review meetings with Project Managers, Section Managers and Vice PresidentsManage processes for projects with special requirements such as certified payroll, special reporting, etc.
Respond to client and internal staff inquiries regarding billing, invoices, expense reports and other financial mattersProcess accounts payableRespond to vendor inquiriesMaintain vendor and billing filesFiling, copying and other duties as assignedMust be able to handle multiple projects and changing priorities, working in a cooperative team environment, which includes cross-training with co-workersWhat we are looking for:Strong multi-tasking organizational and analytical skills to define problemsCompetent accounting and internal control skills as related to project entities/ contractsAbility to meet deadlines in a timely mannerAbility to interpret and manage various project accounting data and documentsStrong Excel skillsKnowledge in Deltek Vision 7.3 + software a plusPrevious Engineering or Construction industry experience preferredYour background:Associate degree or higher in a business-related field5 years of experience in project accounting, preferably in Engineering or Construction industryExperience demonstrating the ability to: prepare and review invoicesExperience working with federal, public and private sectors with billing experience that includes such clients as CPS, Illinois Tollway, IDOT, CDOT, etc.
