    Program Coordinator - Kansas City, United States - Unified Government of Wyandotte County and Kansas City

    Description

    All positions require that the applicant be a resident of Wyandotte county or willing to relocate within (12) months from the date of hire.     Job Description:

    • Facilitate management of day-to-day fiscal and administrative tasks in assigned projects.
    • Accounting
    • Budget projection
    • Grant Management/Reporting
    • Contract Management
    • Work closely with and provides guidance to the Fiscal Officer, Development Office, Investigators, and other Health Department staff, as requested.
    • Initially reviews and becomes familiar with sponsor-specific program announcement and guidelines and provides consultation to the Principal Investigator/Project Manager during the proposal development process; coordinates and participates in the development of budgets for sponsored project proposals and internally funded programs.
    • Track federal, state, and private awards and oversee compliance with grant programs; responsible for maintaining department budgetary records for state and departmental policies which are subject to audit.
    • Assist Principal Investigators in completion of required information for budgets, budget.
    • Justifications, and other required administrative data for sponsored research proposal
    • Coordinates in a timely fashion with sub-recipient staff to gather appropriate documentation, reporting requirements, budgets, statements of work, and assurances for proposal submission; provide technical and administrative support to assigned staff and develop, prepare, and present reports, surveys and perform other administrative duties.
    • Analyze the requirements of the AID to County in coordination with the Fiscal Management Analyst and assure that health department program managers and supervisors receive copies so they can complete the required information and be aware of and meet those requirements.
    • Financial responsibilities include, but are not limited to budgets, purchasing, accounts receivable, accounts payable, time analysis, payroll and agency contracts; work in collaboration with fiscal management team using judgement and discretion in analyzing problem situations and finding solutions, devise new work methods, and interpret rules and procedures.
    • Responsible for organizing, directing and coordinating all aspects of administrative support functions to include budget, finance, property and supply, procurement, personnel and contracts.
    • Serves as a subject matter expert for accounting and grants-related processes for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Promote and support Health Department priorities.
    • Promote the effort to achieve and enhance a departmental Culture of Quality through the above activities.
    • Advocate for a Health-in-All-Policies approach to Health Department activities.
    • Meet administrative responsibilities.
    • Review, revise, and/or create standard operating procedures and policies related to job duties.
    • Other duties as assigned.
    Additional hours may be required to meet deadlines or work on special projects and follow up is needed to ensure problems are corrected.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Bachelor's degree in accounting, public administration, healthcare or business administration, or, an equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job such as those listed above. One year of experience in grant management, accounting, or a related field preferred. Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams).

    Demonstrated ability to work well with people of various ages, backgrounds, ethnicities, and life experiences, and commitment to fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion in all aspects of the workplace.

    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team, manage multiple priorities, and have exceptional time management and organizational skills.

    Must have reliable personal transportation and a valid KS driver's license. A background check and drug screen will be conducted on potentially selected candidates. Must reside in Wyandotte County or relocate to the county within 12 months of hire.

    This is a grant-funded position and will be renewed every year contingent upon funding.

    Salary Range:

    $25.96-$34.72/hr.
