    Job DescriptionSalary: $70,000 - $90,000

    Summa Mechanical Contractors, LLC. is looking to add a Construction Estimator to the team. This position will be responsible in overseeing the estimators and for producing detailed estimates for commercial and industrial projects as well as providing support to other estimating efforts within the company. Individuals must be able to collaborate with a staff of estimators to create a competitive advantage over the competition.

    Responsibilities:

    1. Must be a team player who can communicate effectively
    2. Must have job related technical knowledge necessary to complete the assignment.
    3. Review blueprints and accurately delineates the scope of work required for the project.
    4. Produce detailed mechanical effort-hour estimates for equipment, sheet metal, pipe fitting, etc.
    5. Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
    6. Develop and maintain relationships with existing and potential clients for potential projects.
    7. Solicits and maintains communication with subcontractors and vendors.
    8. Ensures that we have the proper coverage from subcontractors on bid day.
    9. Familiarity with a variety of contracting strategies.
    10. Participate in the presentation of estimates to management and
    11. Organize and prioritize a variety of complex projects and multiple tasks in an effective and timely manner, set priorities, and meet critical time deadlines
    12. Consistently follows up on submitted bids and budgets with GC to close business
    13. Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
    14. Knowledge of current estimating techniques and solutions.
    15. Attend pre-bid, bid review, project kick-off and project meetings.
    16. Manage RFPs and Bid Forms and review estimates to present recommendations for the final pricing to Bid Leaders.
    17. Utilize VE, which is Value Engineering.
    18. Possess the capability to present estimates in bid interviews meetings and also present proposals to potential customers with confidence.
    19. Examine the Quality Control (QC) and the Quality Assurance (QA) checks with the Leadership.
    20. Review and keep a schedule of benchmark pricing indices, scope, and project costs.
    21. Ability to recommend, utilize and implement estimating software to finalize accurate estimates.
    22. Assist in training estimators and junior estimators and help them grow within the company.
    23. Other duties as assigned.

    Requirements:

    1. At least 10 years or more of experience in estimating and installing in the commercial construction field. Journeyman tradesman (desired).
    2. Knowledge Word, Outlook, Excel & Estimating Software.
    3. Educated and up to date with codes, ordinances, and advancements of new design models and technologies
    4. Knowledge in sheet metal, piping, equipment, duct work, submittals, project buy out and general Knowledge of field related items associated with the mechanical trade is a must. you will be required to negotiate work, hard bid work and provide conceptual budgets with minimal involvement of management.
