ZEISS Semiconductor Manufacturing Technology - the enabler for smaller, more powerful and energy-efficient microchips

What is an essential component of every smartphone? That's right, the microchip - the heart of every electronically controlled system.

Around 80 percent of all microchips worldwide are manufactured using ZEISS technologies. ZEISS is the technology leader in the field of semiconductor manufacturing equipment.

With highly precise lithography optics, photomask systems, and solutions for process control, ZEISS enables the production of increasingly smaller, more powerful, and energy-efficient microchips - and thus significantly shapes the era of micro and nanoelectronics with its innovations.

But what would a lithography optic be without the electronics and software that control it? There would be no chance of achieving the necessary imaging precision.

It is the control electronics of a lithography optic, in conjunction with the associated sensors and actuators, that ensure the optical elements are aligned with extreme accuracy up to several tens of thousands of times per second in a closed control loop - enabling the necessary precision in the exposure process.

Our work in the Product Electronics and Product Software departments covers all areas of electronics development:
analog and digital hardware development, real-time and non-real-time software development, FPGA design and verification, and electrical design. We cover all steps from requirements management to design, prototype construction, testing, and industrialization.
