    Description

    The Program Manager (Energy Projects), Planning and Approvals is responsible for leading a cross-program team to deliver coordinated and integrated whole of DEECA environment portfolio responses for the Victoria-NSW Interconnector (West) (VNI West) Project. This position requires a person with strong understanding of land use planning, the Victorian planning system and of DEECA's role and portfolio interests to be represented into internal and external land use planning processes.

  • The Planning and Approvals Program Statewide provides advice on behalf of DEECA on over 3,000 land use change and development proposals across the State annually, including major state and renewable every projects.
  • Join a Statewide team working in the planning and environmental approvals part of DEECA, to deliver environment portfolio responses for the Victoria-NSW Interconnector (West) (VNI West) project.
  • If you have a land use planning or environmental science qualification, or knowledge and experience in the application of Victoria's planning system and environmental regulation framework then this could be your next career step.
  • Experience in preparing and delivering land use planning advice and managing approval inputs would be advantageous.

    • Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications

    Relevant tertiary qualifications such as land use planning or environmental science and have knowledge and experience in the application of Victoria's planning system and environmental regulation framework.

    Experience in preparing and delivering environmental land use planning advice and managing inputs into significant environmental impact assessments would be advantageous.

    This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2025. The work location for this position is within Grampians region with hybrid work arrangements available.
