Job Description Summary:
The Clinical Specialist is a resource for the execution of the Medication Delivery Solutions value-added clinical business strategy.

The role implements clinical programs and initiatives that differentiate the MDS product portfolio based on improved clinical outcomes and process enhancements which may result in a lower cost-in-use.

The expertise and credentials of the Clinical Specialist enhances the credibility of recommendations to customers and strengthens customer service and support.

This support to customers is achieved through recommending best practice and facilitating education. The Clinical Specialist actively engages in conversion management, product implementation and training of Medication Delivery Solutions products.

Responsibilities:
Oncology, Hazardous Drug Safety, and Intravenous Chemotherapy Administration Experience Required.

As directed by the Clinical Manager, the Clinical Specialist role will be focused on, but not exclusively limited to, the activities outlined below:


_ Performance:
_


  • Manages their responsibilities within the allotted T&E expense budget.
  • Provides updates monthly to the Clinical Manager on regional training activities and support provided in region (CE courses, Assessments, Implementations, Customer Meetings, etc.) per activities delineated in the Individual Impact Goals.
  • Facilitates customer training classes in support of conversion or retention for key customers
  • Collaborates with the Regional Team to clinically support customer engagements from presale through postconversion.
  • Develops strong, working relationships with end
- users while providing product in-servicing and clinical education.

  • Provides routine followup support to customers at enduser locations as needed.
  • Conducts regional training for contractual nursing support as needed.
  • Works with CM and RBM to ensure scheduling and activities produce the greatest return on investment.
  • Conducts VAM assessments supporting both Hazardous Drug Safety and Vascular Care sales bags.

_


  • Aids sales personnel by building strong, working relationships with end users during product inservicing and clinical education programs.
  • Works in concert with the Regional Team to ensure the sales and conversion management process is clinically effective throughout the timeline of prevalidation to retention.
  • Establishes excellent rapport with TMs across both selling bags, RBM and CM. Works collaboratively with Region.
  • Collaborates with the Sales Team in key account management strategy sessions
  • Provides clinical support, training and education for Regional Team members as needed
  • Shares standard processes with the Business, Territory Managers, ATMs, Regional Business Managers, Strategic Customer Group, Area VPs and their counterparts as they continue to enhance MDS programs and processes.
  • Provides training activities that help increase the clinical competence for new hires as well as tenured Territory Managers.
  • Manages the Oncall Specialist (OCS) schedule to include coordination of team meetings for consistency of message and briefing of issues.
  • Has responsibility for managing the Regional Team of per diem nurses at the account level to ensure the provision of the highest level of training to our customers.
  • Trains and mentors contract nursing staff to consistently help build their clinical competence, while identifying high potential nurses within this group to be considered for the role of Clinical Specialist.
  • Works primarily in a geographically defined territory; however, based on account clinical needs, could assist outside of the region.

Position Requirements:


  • Registered Nurse with a Bachelor's degree (BSN is preferred)
  • Intravenous Chemotherapy Administration, Hazardous Drug Safety, and/or Oncology Nursing Experience Required. Vascular Access experience preferred.
  • Good relationship development skills
  • Strong communicator with effective verbal and written skills
  • Proven training skills to conduct educational courses
  • Persuasive and credible; able to influence without authority
  • Deals well with ambiguity
  • Possesses strong understanding and knowledge of infusion therapy, vascular access and key disease states served by MDS products
  • Provides sales
