    Description

    A well-established civil engineering company in California is looking to hire a Survey Technician Party Chief in either Irvine or West Los Angeles.

    Responsibilities of the Survey Technician Party Chief:

    • Take charge, lead, and carry out the tasks of a field survey crew chief for boundary, topographic, and construction surveying.
    • Conduct associated research, review plans, and perform calculations to determine grades and positions of improvements on construction blueprints.
    • Provide guidance and training to less experienced Survey Technicians.
    • Skilled in operating and maintaining robotic and GPS surveying equipment.
    • Effective communication skills to interact professionally and courteously with team members and clients.

    Qualifications of Successful Candidates:

    • Minimum of 5 years of overall field surveying experience, including time served as a survey party chief OR 3 years of experience coupled with a two-year formal education in surveying or engineering.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D.
    • Knowledge of geometric and trigonometry principles.
    • Solid experience in setting up, using, and maintaining robotic total stations, data collectors, and GPS equipment.
    • PLS/LSIT certification not mandatory but preferred.

    Expected Salary Range:

    $80,000 - $135,000
