JOB SUMMARY
The Director of the Office of Opioid Abatement is responsible for leading and managing the office to carry out its statutory duties that include: (1) Conduct a District-wide needs assessment to identify structural gaps and needs

related to opioid use disorder and co-occurring substance use and menial health disorders:
(2) Support the Opioid Abatement Advisory Commission's activities by providing staffing, research and policy expertise, facilities, technical assistance, and other resources;
(3) Assist the Commission in preparing its recommendations;
(4) Integrate the work of the Office and Commission and Fund expenditures with

existing District strategic planning related to opioid use disorder and co-occurring substance use and mental health disorders;
(6) Issue, manage, and oversee awards and grants from the Fund,

(7) Prepare an annual report, and

(8) Create and maintain a public website


This position IS NOT in a collective bargaining unit.

First Screening Date:
April 26, 2024; and every two weeks thereafter


Tour of Duty: 8:15 am - 4:45 pm Monday - Friday


Duration of Appointment:
MANAGEMENT SUPERVISORY SERVICES (MSS)**
"AT WILL" EMPLOYMENT APPLIES TO THE MANAGEMENT SUPERVISORY SERVICES (MSS).

ALL POSITIONS AND APPOINTMENTS IN THE MSS SERVE "AT THE PLEASURE OF THE APPOINTING AUTHORITY" AND MAY BE TERMINATED AT ANY TIME WITHOUT CAUSE.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIREMENT:


LICENSURE
None


EDUCATION
Bachelors or higher degree which involved major study in an academic field related to health or allied sciences.


WORK ENVIRONMENT
The work is performed in an office setting.

  • Criminal background check;
  • Traffic record check (as applicable);
  • Consumer credit check (as applicable);
  • Reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol test; and
  • Postaccident or incident drug and alcohol test.
