    24-25 WIN - Housing Counseling Corps - Economics

    The Economic Learning VISTA will serve with Working In Neighborhoods from August in Cincinnati, OH.

    Working In Neighborhoods (WIN) is part of the Housing Counseling Corps initiative of Housing Action Corps, an AmeriCorps VISTA program managed by Housing Action Illinois since 2010.

    Housing Counseling Corps members receive custom training, support, networking, and post-service employment opportunities in the housing counseling field, in addition to the traditional benefits of AmeriCorps VISTA.

    Since 1978, WIN has empowered people in the Greater Cincinnati region to make informed choices for themselves and their neighborhoods through community building, homeownership, and economic learning. As a HUD Approved housing counseling agency, WIN offers first-time homebuyer classes and ongoing financial education, while also working directly with families to save homes from foreclosure. WIN's Economic Learning program offers housing counseling and coaching, group education, resource connection, service referrals, and outreach to help residents attain and maintain stable housing. The Economic Learning VISTA will develop new partnerships, outreach strategies, and marketing materials to ensure our services reach households in need. Our ideal candidate will be comfortable with public speaking and demonstrate excellent communications, writing/editing, and computer skills. Prior social services experience is a plus This position offers a $600 monthly stipend.

    Member Duties : WIN's Economic Learning Program has a track record of preventing housing insecurity and working effectively with underemployed and unemployed clients so they can manage their finances and keep their homes. The Economic Learning VISTA will increase housing and financial stability in our region by expanding WIN's community outreach and partner engagement. The VISTA will conduct outreach with schools, churches, clinics, community groups, and social service organizations. They will also create new engagement materials, including a FAQ handout and monthly newsletter. By the end of their service, the VISTA will expand WIN's financial literacy program to new partners, become a HUD-Certified housing counselor, and pilot housing counseling services.
